About the author
Gareth Preston has enjoyed writing for many years. As well as the pantomimes published by Lazy Bee Scripts, he has written the audio Doctor Who spin-off 'Sontarans - Conduct Unbecoming' for BBV, as well as several self-produced internet audio dramas, not to mention writing scripts for and appearing in shorts by Westlake Films and Hardy Productions, including playing Otto Frank in "Six Million Voices". Over the years he has appeared in most pantomime roles, from the silly billy to the dame. He co-wrote his first panto script in a moment of crisis for his local group.

He is heavily involved with Bolton Little Theatre in many roles including acting, directing, marketing and front of house. He was a regular contributor to local artistic endeavor "Live from Worktown" in his home town of Bolton and has twice had his work was performed at Bolton's Octagon Theater as part of their annual 'Best of Bolton' night for local authors.

In 2019, Winterslow Drama Group's production of "Dick Whittington", written by Gareth Preston and Pam Hope, was featured on several episodes of BBC1's magazine programme "The One Show". Legendary performer Christopher Biggins mentored them in the art of pantomime.
