Lazy Bee Scripts - Licensing...

Entertainment Licences
Entertainment licences are a UK-wide issue (Licensing Act 2003).
Other jurisdictions may have similar requirements, possibly at a local level.

The act requires that any "regulated entertainment" - in our case, any stage show -
(either open to the public or held in a private club)
either requires a "premises licence" or a "temporary event licence".

So either the building you are using for your play needs to be licensed for entertainment
or you need a one-off licence for the event.

This licence comes from a local licensing authority.
They give permission to stage "entertainment" -
that is not the same as permission to stage a particular show!
Permission to stage a particular show comes from the rights holder for that show.

(So you need both a local authority licence to stage anything and the rights holder's
permission to stage the specific show.)
