The Filming of Das Kapital by Vithal Rajan

SynopsisThe writer is grappling not only with his writing but also with his personal life as he desperately attempts to strike up a relationship with Janis, a beautiful girl he sees on a bus.
Well paced and gathering speed, the play uses the chorus to reveal the writer's thoughts - sometimes cogent, sometimes chaotic - come to life as the surreal become real.

SynopsisThe Lion is top of the food chain, and about to take his place at the head of the pride, when he damages his leg in a snare. Now all the animals scorn him and he feels useless. But Hyena, despicable Hyena, shows him he isn't finished yet. Within this short story there is a wealth of information and points to consider about attitudes, prejudices, assumptions and personalities.

StyleBlack comedy play. (One-act length, two act structure.) Needs a bit of imagination from the set designer, since we have a man on a roof and others on the ground, but otherwise simple to stage. Contains swearing (and references to soccer).
SynopsisA fanatical football fan is devastated that his team has failed to qualify for Europe. Distraught, he decides to end his life by jumping from a rooftop.
(This is nominally set in London, but could be moved anywhere by changing the name of the team, and possibly the code of the sport in question.)

The Lambton Worm by Timothy Hallett and Nicholas Richards

StyleShort musical retelling of an English folk tale. (The music plays throughout, even though some of the narration is spoken rather than sung.) No real set requirements, but the ideal performance would put some effort into creating a fearsome worm!
SynopsisThe tale of the wild worm of Wearside and its grisly end.
It should be emphasised that 'worm' is used in its old sense of 'serpent' - so this is a story of knights fighting dragons.
