As with all such pantomimes, there's a lot of flexibility in the casting - two of the female parts could be played by males as pantomime dames, the hero could be played by a female - the traditional pantomime principal boy. She calls upon Jack, who falls asleep a lot and has just lost his parent's farm for them and doesn't have any livestock to sell for magic beans. But the Fairie Queen is desperate (she must be) and beckons Jack into the Land of Nod. With the help of a pirate and his motley crew, can Jack's mission succeed and save the Land of Nod, especially when some of his stout hearted crew aren't quite what they pretend to be? The King of Spain's Treasure by Geoff Bamber Performance by Cheshire Academy of Performing arts won the Syd Mence Trophy at the Wilmslow Guild One Act Play Festival may 2011 (for being 'a piece of magic'!) Minimum total without doubling = 23. Chorus. It's a panto - normal pantomime gender confusion applies! We also have the ever-popular pantomime pirates. (Say Aar!) And we have some rather unusual pantomime creatures. (Yes, all panto animals are unusual, but these are more unusual than that.) Run Time Around 110 minutes. The princess has turned into a talking encyclopaedia and the Queen can barely speak. A doctor proposes a remedy - the Queen needs to laugh, but nobody seems to be able to make her so much as smile, least of all Gooseberry, the jester. Fairy Crackers sends Gooseberry on a mission - to bring back the world's funniest joke! But even if he finds it, will the Queen regain her sense of humour? Minimum total without doubling = 23. Chorus. Characters include pirates, redskins, lost boys, mermaids, a rollerskating fairy and, of course, the crocodile. Style James Barry's full-length British pantomime treatment of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. Whilst it's done in a modern panto style, the story remains faithful to the original. Includes flying sequences. Synopsis Peter Pan and Tinkerbell the fairy lead Wendy Darling and her brothers on an adventure to Neverland, leading to the final showdown with Peter's enemy, Captain Hook (and Hook's enemy, the crocodile).
