Note that Lazy Bee Scripts does not provide a script for the dialogue. Because the actors are interacting with the audience, it is not possible to stick to a fixed script, instead the actors improvise dialogue based on the "narrative arc."
 

What's a Murder Mystery Event?

  • The scenario is run as if the audience has been brought together for a special occasion
  • In this case
    • The event is a dinner to announce the forthcoming new season’s programme by the Style Theatre Company, a repertory theatre group which has seen better days. There are high expectations for the new season since recent sponsorship by a theatre investor could mean the turning point in the company’s fortunes.
    • The "audience" has the role of the people invited to the launch of the new season – valued sponsors and patrons of the theatre company.
    • As the actors progress with the unveiling of the programme, the plot mystery develops until one of the characters is found murdered...
 
What's in this Scenario?

The time is the present. Richard Venables, artistic director of the Style Theatre Company has invited an audience of valued patrons and a number of special guests to announce the new season’s schedule.

In addition to Richard, other notable guests at the dinner include:
Liam Dwyer: Theatre investor and business man who has put up a large sum of money for the new season.
Margot Arnold: Prima donna and leading lady of the company.
Lily Turner: PA to Mr Venables.
Brett Brown: Heart-throb actor and leading man of the company.
Susi Brown: Actress, dancer and the rising star of the company.
Annabelle Dwyer: A famous actress of stage and film and Liam’s wife.

What should be a cause for celebration quickly descends into chaos as what Richard reveals is not quite what everyone expected! Sordid secrets, recriminations and blackmail finally end in a double murder!

Lazy Bee Scripts scripts charges two fees:-
  • A flat fee of £20 for the murder mystery scenario pack
    • Downloadable from the Internet as a Zip file
    • Containing master files (in .doc and .pdf formats) of all the essential materials
    • Can be used multiple times by your acting company (but you must pay the performance fee for each performance)
  • A fee of £20 for each performance of the scenario (regardless of the "audience" size)
