For simplicity, this listing is only those musicals for which Lazy Bee Scripts provides a complete set of sheet music (piano and vocal scores for all songs).
There is a separate listing of musical plays and pantomimes with a partial set of sheet music.  Then there is the strange category of "musicals without music" generally musical plays for which the author suggests the use of (specified) popular songs.

A Grimm Night for Hans Christian Andersen (Musical)AuthorSue Gordon
Roles Minimum Male roles = 8. Minimum Female roles = 10. Minimum total with doubling = 23. Minimum total without doubling = 40. No chorus. Lots of speaking parts, but few characters per scene so easy to structure small rehearsals. Whilst it does not require a chorus, there is scope for extra characters in a few of the scenes. Some of the characters sing!

Style Comic retelling of fairytales as a musical play. Many scenes, but using the same few pieces of 'set furniture'. Simple props.
Synopsis Hans Christian Andersen gets an unexpected visit from the Brothers Grimm - who seem to be upset over the matter of stealing story lines. A competition ensues, with characters from Andersen and Grimm stories taking the stage - often in unexpected ways.

A Letter to SantaAuthorSue Gordon
Roles Minimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 15. Minimum total without doubling = 15. Chorus. Two of the characters are nominally adults. It is written so that the cast can be divided into two - a school class and Santa's elves.

Style A light musical for young children. Basic sets.
Synopsis A school class write Christmas letters to Santa, and we discover that they are dealt with by Mrs. Santa and a bunch of fractious elves.

The characters described as 'a few small pieces of fruit and veg' play a chorus role. Their numbers are very flexible. The characters are inanimate objects, so gender is flexible!

Synopsis A Nasally over-blessed heroine (Miss Nodda Tragtiff) takes part in a reality Makeover show, only to find that the New You promised has caused her to lose her old friends and only gained her fleeting popularity with new people. She comes to understand that real beauty comes from within, and true friends aren't swayed by appearance.

Style Operetta, setting the Charles Dickens story to the music of Arthur Sullivan.
Synopsis A traditional re-telling of Dickens' classic story of the redemption of a miser, using pieces from many of Gilbert and Sullivan's musicals with original lyrics.

Style Simple one-act musical for kids - a prologue and four of Aesop's fables.

Synopsis A group of mice are delighted by their plan for constraining the local cat - until it comes to executing the plan.
Meanwhile, a lion falls in love, a boy ruins his chance of promotion in the shepherding business, and a fox tries to make the most of a fashion disaster.
(They all make a song and dance of it!)

Style One-act musical for performance by teenagers, young adults or a mixture of adults and teenagers. No specific set requirements.
Synopsis Christmas musical telling the story of Mary from her betrothal to Joseph up to the birth of Jesus (roughly Matthew 1, 18-25, Luke 1, 26-38 and Luke 2, 1-7). Told from the point of view of a teenage girl, Anna, a jealous friend of Mary. It brings out the difficulty of Mary’s situation within her community, but the resolution is joyous and uplifting.

Around the World in Eighty DaysAuthorRichard Cowling
Roles Minimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 20. Minimum total without doubling = 54. Chorus. In order to be faithful to Jules Verne, most of the characters are written male. How you cast them is up to you! (For example, whilst it was not so in Fogg's day, the Reform Club is now open to women!)

Style Full-length school musical based on Jules Verne's novel. By the nature of the story, there are a lot of locations, but these can be presented in as simple or complex a way as you please.
Synopsis Phileas Fogg accepts a wager to travel around the World in Eighty days. Armed with only Passepartout (his trusty French manservant) and pursued by a detective, he sets out, venturing via Egypt, India (where he acquires a princess!), Japan and the USA.
