A posse of would-be heroes are here to save the day! The love sick Ali Barber (who pines for the Princess), his dim witted brother Singbad the sailor and his fearsome mother, Dame Barber are ready to intervene and foil the villain's fiendish plot. They are helped along the way by their pal 'Bob' (a lad with a secret), a pantomime camel named Humpy and a lady Genie who's been stuck in a magic ruby for far too long!

A Fishy School

Performance by Dean Hole Primary School won the 10th annual Wolfit drama and verse speaking competition.

A Little Elfin MagicAuthorDonna Brightwell

Discouraged, he informs his Astrologer that, dissatisfied with endless gloomy predictions, he has written into his will that the Astrologer must die fifteen minutes after the king breathes his last. The king's sisters then gang up on the Astrologer, pressuring him into predicting that the king will die, in the hope of worrying him into an early grave. Into all this confusion come a heavily disguised princess and her father, investigating the kingdom before her marriage to the king. All sorts of unfortunate and unforseen consequences follow!

Synopsis All is not well in Nottingham! The wicked Sheriff is growing rich on the many taxes he is forcing the poor townsfolk to pay and he is just about to become even richer. Pip and Penny, recently orphaned and heirs to vast fortunes have been entrusted into his care and he is hatching a horrible plan to make sure that he will inherit the cash and marry Maid Marion into the bargain. All that stands in his way is the very brave and dashing Robin Hood and his Merry Men, the fearsome Nanny Coddle, brainless Dave Knave (the wannabe outlaw) and a rather overworked Fairy. Will they succeed in thwarting the evil plot and beat the Sheriff and his villainous henchmen?

Synopsis Duke Bluebeard lives in a grim castle and is feared by all. No one really knows what dark things happen in his castle. Having disposed of wife number five Bluebeard decides that Boulotte, the local May Queen will be his next wife, little knowing what he has let himself in for! Presenting his new wife at the court of King Bobeche and Queen Hortensia he spies their daughter Princess Marie and immediately decides that she shall be wife number seven. He orders his personal inventor, Popolani, to make the arrangements and proceeds to the palace. Challenged to a duel Bluebeard apparently kills Marie's fiancé, Prince Bruno, and demands the princess's hand in marriage. Suddenly Boulotte and Bluebeard's previous wives reappear and confront him.

Enthusiastically assisted by Skank, best friend and village idiot, all goes well for Bobbin until a motley band of travellers turn up, keen to get to the safety of town, not least as they have just had a run-in with Phlegma. Can the evil witch be thwarted? Can Bobbin become a hero? Surely the diverse talents of Captain Scramble, Miss Marcia Thesp, the Pied Piper of Hamelin and the mighty Valgar, Dragon Slayer will be more than a match for Phlegma. Don't count on it.
