All the pantomimes described below can be read in full on the Lazy Bee Scripts web site. (Click on the Titles to see the complete online panto scripts.) However, all the scripts on this site are copyrighted. They may not be printed, quoted or performed without the permission of Lazy Bee Scripts. The scripts are divided into two categories: small-cast, full-length pantomimes and Small cast, family shows (alternative to panto) - James Barry's hilarious niche market - these have some, but not all, features of a conventional panto. Note that we are talking about British pantomimes. If you are not British, then pantomime probably means something different to you (and the scripts may be rather unexpected) - check out What is a Pantomime anyway?

Small cast, full length pantomimes - from Lazy Bee Scripts


Aladdin (Small Cast)	Author	James Barry
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 6. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 8. Minimum total without doubling = 11. No chorus.

	Style	British Panto with traditional pantomime, with jokes, slapstick and magic.
	Synopsis	Aladdin falls for Princess Jasmine, but needs to find a fortune to convince her father of the match. He strikes lucky, with a lamp and a genie, but he has to contend with the wicked Abanaza.

Cinderella and the Pantomime Thief	Author	Peter Nuttall
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 9. Minimum total without doubling = 12. No chorus. Lots of flexibility in the casting - Cinderella and the Witch are female, Abanaza, Wiggle and Buttons are male, after that you can decide whether the Ugly Sisters should be played by men and Prince Charming female as a 'principal boy'.

	Music	There are opportunities for songs in this show, but the author leaves the details to the discretion of the production team! Lazy Bee Scripts does not supply any sheet music with this script.
	Style	Small cast English pantomime (based on a collision of traditional pantomime stories).
	Synopsis	The Wicked Witch and Abanazer are trying to take over the world, but which one of them is behind the string of panto prop thefts? Can policeman Buttons solve the wicked crime and help the Prince marry Cinders, or will he marry her himself? Much fun is had with a few panto conventions in this unconventional panto.

Puss-in-Boots (small cast)	Author	James Barry
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 5. Minimum total without doubling = 6. No chorus. King can double as the Ogre. We assume that Harry (the hero) is played by a man and puss is played by a woman. (But this is pantomime, so make your own mind up!)

	Music	One original song score provided with the Producer's Copy of the Script. Other song spots listed in the script, to be used at the discretion of the producer.
	Style	Traditional pantomime, with jokes, slapstick and magic.
	Synopsis	Harry, the miller's youngest son, inherits the magical talking cat (who refuses to answer to 'Tiddles'). Harry falls for the princess, but to win her hand, he has to confront the ogre in a battle of magical transformations.

Robin Hood and his band of Merry Persons	Author	Peter Nuttall
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 5. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 13. Minimum total without doubling = 13. No chorus. Lots of gender-flexibility (as is normal with British panto)
	Run time	Around 70 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]
	Music	Suggestions for songs (and some original lyrics) are included in the Producer's copy of the script. Lazy Bee Scripts does not supply any sheet music with this script.
	Style	Short, British pantomime for a small(ish) cast.
	Synopsis	A snappily-written version of the Robin Hood saga - rivalry between heroic Robin and the Sheriff (over who is entitled to money and over Maid Marian - who, in this version, is the Sheriff's daughter.)

Robinson Crusoe - The Truth	Author	James Barry
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 5. Minimum total without doubling = 5. No chorus. We assume that Robinson (the hero) is played by a Female as a principle boy and that Robinson's mother is played a Male as a pantomime dame.
	Run time	Around 80 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]
	Music	Sheet music for four original songs are provided with the Producer's Copy of the Script. (Other songs to be used at the discretion of the producer.)
	Style	Traditional British pantomime, with jokes, slapstick and plenty of opportunities for physical clowning.
	Synopsis	Robinson Crusoe takes a job on a ship, not realising that the captain is a wicked pirate, seeking treasure. Inevitably, they are shipwrecked, but just when Robinson thinks he's alone on a desert island, his mother and sweetheart come to the rescue.

SCInderella	Author	tlc Creative
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 5. Minimum total without doubling = 6. No chorus. It is assumed that this will be played as a pantomime, with the dame (in this case the ugly sisters) played by a male (doubling as both sisters) and the principal boy (Prince Charming) will be played by a female.
	Run time	Around 90 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]
	Music	One popular song is suggested (for which additional lyrics for one verse are supplied in the producer's copy of the script). Lazy Bee Scripts does not supply any sheet music with this script.
	Style	Small cast pantomime with integrated science content, designed to support the (English) National Curriculum Key Stages 2 and 3. (Not the whole of the curriculum, obviously!) Audience participation, slapstick, silliness and science.
	Synopsis	Prince Charming is on the hunt for the girl of his dreams but the mean ugly sisters, Positivia and Negativia will try their best to stop Cinders from making it to the Ball. Along the way the audience and the characters learn all about pollination, separating mixtures, circuits, light and forces. With lots of audience participation, a fairy godmother and, like all good fairytales, a happy ending!

Snow White and the Curse of the Ice Queen	Author	Peter Nuttall
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 1. Minimum Female roles = 4. Minimum total with doubling = 11. Minimum total without doubling = 11. No chorus. The Dame is assumed to be played by a man, the Prince (as a panto principal boy) by a girl.
	Run time	Around 75 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]
	Music	Sheet music for one original song is supplied with the producer's copy of the script. Other songs are suggested.
	Style	English pantomime, a variant on the Snow White fairy tale.
	Synopsis	The Ice Queen wants to consolidate her hold on the kingdom by marrying Prince Charming. To do that, she has to get rid of Snow White. Unfortunately for her, she picks the Prince's brother - who she has transformed into a hobgoblin to finish the job - and after that it's just a matter of getting the right people to do the right things. (As if they would!)

The Frog Princess	Author	Trevor Suthers (songs by Paul O'Neill)
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 4. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 11. Minimum total without doubling = 11. No chorus. The Queen might be played by a male as a pantomime dame.
	Run time	Around 95 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]

	Style	Musical English Pantomime based on an original story.
	Synopsis	An original variation on the time-honoured tale of star-crossed lovers - in a tale of Prince meets frog. In this case, we have a princess who is currently a frog, a witch who can't decide whether she's good or bad, and various unlikely heroes.

Small cast, family shows (alternative to panto) - from Lazy Bee Scripts
These shows have some of the characteristics of pantomime, but do not fit in a strict definition of the genre!


Sherlock's Excellent Adventure	Author	James Barry
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 4. Minimum total without doubling = 6. No chorus.

	Music	Sheet music for four original songs provided with the Producer's Copy of the Script.
	Style	Parody of Sherlock Holmes stories, visual jokes, theatrical jokes, wordplay. Not strictly a pantomime, but has some of the elements (including Mrs. Hudson as a pantomime dame) and could fit in a slot in the panto season.
	Synopsis	Lucy Matravers engages Holmes and Watson to resolve a dispute over a family will, bringing conflict with Holmes's arch enemy, Moriarty.

Three Musketeers	Author	James Barry
	Roles	Minimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 3. Minimum total without doubling = 3. No chorus. The Three Musketeers, the Cardinal, the Cardinal's servant, the Queen and Milady are played by the same three actors!
	Run time	Around 90 minutes. [Caution! This is very dependent on your production.]
	Music	Sheet music for three original songs provided with the Producer's Copy of the Script.
	Style	Hilarious adventure with the Three Musketeers. Visual jokes, physical comedy, theatrical jokes, wordplay. (Not strictly pantomime, but contains many panto elements, so would be at home in a panto season or at any other time!)
	Synopsis	Cardinal Richelieu is trying to usurp the throne of France by stealing the crown jewels. In desperation, the Queen turns to the Athos, Porthos and Aramis. In retaliation, the Cardinal turns to his servant, Brie (played by an actor who turned up for a performance of Treasure Island) and the seductive Milady. Deception, mayhem, sword fights and hilarity ensue.
