Kara Chamberlain is a British-Canadian playwright and screenwriter. Kara grew up in the Canadian prairies, moving from her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta to the UK in 2014. She now lives and works in London, UK.

As a writer, Kara uses her sense of humour and imagination to bring entertainment and activism together. Recent topics she has explored include mental illness, violence against women, and grief. Kara has always had a quirky sense of humour, which comes across in her work as a writer and as an actor.

Kara holds an MA in Professional Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (UK), and a BA Honours in Drama from the University of Alberta (Canada).

On stage, Kara's work has been presented at Camden People's Theatre, The Space, Theatre N16, The Bike Shed Theatre, The Acorn Theatre, and the Warren at Brighton Fringe. Kara also writes for screen, her recent short film screened at a number of festivals including the Oakville Film Festival (Canada), the Arizona Short Film Festival (USA), the Romford Horror Film Festival (UK), and the Oxford Short Film Festival (UK).
