About the author
Gareth Preston has enjoyed writing for many years. As well as the pantomimes published by Lazy Bee Scripts, he has written the audio Doctor Who spin-off 'Sontarans - Conduct Unbecoming' for BBV, as well as several self-produced internet audio dramas, not to mention writing scripts for and appearing in shorts by Westlake Films and Hardy Productions, including playing Otto Frank in "Six Million Voices". Over the years he has appeared in most pantomime roles, from the silly billy to the dame. He co-wrote his first panto script in a moment of crisis for his local group.

He is heavily involved with Bolton Little Theatre in many roles including acting, technical, directing, marketing and front of house. He has twice had his work was performed at Bolton's Octagon Theater as part of their annual 'Best of Bolton' night for local authors. Away from the theatre he is a regular reviewer on the "Talking Pictures TV" podcast, celebrating the popular independent UK channel. He also produces and hosts "Very British Futures", a podcast about science fiction.

In 2019, Winterslow Drama Group's production of "Dick Whittington", written by Gareth Preston and Pam Hope, was featured on several episodes of BBC1's magazine programme "The One Show". Legendary performer Christopher Biggins mentored them in the art of pantomime.
