Playwright...
Mathilde hails from a small country that has three official languages and holds the world record for going the longest time without a government. Mathilde is small, she speaks three languages, and she’s not too fond of authority.
Mathilde’s homeland produces the world’s finest chocolate. Which explains a lot.
When she isn’t eating chocolate, Mathilde writes plays, screenplays and poems. She has also written articles for The Huffington Post, and, bizarrely, for several newspapers an magazines in Sri Lanka.
Mathilde's full name is Mathilde Gisele Jessica Alice Marie Dratwa Wojciechowski. Yes, really.
...Mostly
Once upon a time, Mathilde was an English teacher and head of Drama at the International School of Toulouse. Now based in New York, she works as a teaching artist for the New Victory and the Roundabout Theatre Company.
She has appeared onstage in the United States (Mark Morris, HERE), England (Shakespeare's Globe, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Cochrane Theater), Russia (Vakhtangov Institute), France (Theatre de la Digue) and Belgium (La Monnaie - National Opera House).
Background and Education
Mathilde holds a BA and MA in English Literature and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education as an English and Drama teacher, all from Cambridge University, as well as a masters in Classical Acting from Drama Centre London. Mathilde is perfectly bilingual in French and English and fluent in Spanish.
