FULL LENGTH PLAYS Never Mind the Butler is a comedy inspired by Downton Abbey and Gosford Park, and features life upstairs and downstairs in a country manor house - plus a brutal murder of course!
Never Mind the Bonnets is a parody of Jane Austen and Bridgerton tropes and follows the Bonnet sisters as they relocate to the countryside and attempt to find love under the wing of Lady Meddlesome and her glamorous cousins Martha and Arthur Dashing.
Treasure Island (version 5) is a panto version of the popular story by RL Stevenson which plays with gender roles and has a few plot twists to keep audiences on their toes. Expect sword fights with spades and lots of clothes swapping under the galley table! |
SHORT PLAYS FOR ADULTS Warm, Hot, Getting Hotter was a winner at Wimbledon Bookfest's Playfest 2014 and was performed at the festival by Attic Theatre (see photos). Since then it has been performed by South West Hassra, winning Best Performance at their annual drama competition, and Banbury Cross Players who performed it in three different locations including a retirement home and a restaurant. SHORT PLAYS FOR CHILDREN Absolutely Aesop is a one act comedy play based around Aesop's fables. When Aesop is invited on to the Absolutely Ancient chat show, he is surprised to find some of his creations turning up, and things don't go smoothly! Lou's most popular script has had performances around the world including the US, Australia and Tasmania.
Meet the Solar System is a short performance ideal for school assemblies or classes, introducing the solar system as characters with songs based on nursery rhyme tunes.
The Snowflake Mistake and Not Yet a Yeti are dramatised version of two of Lou's popular picture books.
