Emma Wise
Working in the Following Genre:
Sketches, Skits or Very Short Plays
From Stage
Youth and community theatre is Emma's base foundation where she also competed in several festivals. These included projects for mixed aged viewers and family audiences including professional panto. She has previously worked as a creative facilitator at Stride in Yorkshire who host performance and art sessions for youths and adults with Access (SEND) Requirements.
To Screen
Emma started to write for screen around 2013. One of her original stories was adapted for a short film in 2015 by a local production company. 'Gene' went on to win the British Invasion category at Spooky Empire Festival in the US, which she also acted in & produced. Over the last decade she has had work published on various platforms, acted in three feature films, created & produced an award-winning period TV drama pilot & created/written for multi media projects which highlight the forgotten trailblazers of Britain’s past in their fight for Suffrage & in their support of the Abolition movement.
And everything in between...
Emma's creative practice knows no bounds. From producing music videos to directing plays, Emma is comfortable in an abundance of styles, projects and roles. Period to modern, comedy to horror, fact to fiction, her writing is no different.
Commissioned Written Work and a move North
During her short stay in York in 2022/23 she researched, wrote for, facilitated and performed in an immersive experimental trans-Atlantic exchange live project. The family friendly, historical and educational ‘storybook template’, saw performers from Wisconsin, US integrate their history with that of North Yorkshire spanning 140 years.

Now settled & ready to explore the creative avenues in her chosen forever home (near Glasgow), she is advancing her writing whilst engaging with meaningful performance opportunities & practitioner engagements.
