Biography
Jamie is an award-winning playwright whose work ranges from acclaimed festival dramas to crowd-pleasing Christmas comedies. His published plays include The Start of Something, Of All the Things I Have Lost, Songkeeper, and The Great Christmas Cracker Heist.

His writing blends sharp dialogue, theatrical invention and a wry sense of humour. His plays have been performed by groups across the world, as well as by his own company, Brightlight Theatre, which he founded to develop and stage new writing.

A regular winner of Best New Play at Woking Drama Festival, his debut play The Start of Something also received the Derek Jacobi Playwriting Award in 2017, and was later performed at Theatre503, directed by veteran actor Sam Cox and starring BBC Coupling’s Kate Isitt.

Jamie trained in playwriting on a short course at the National Theatre, was a member of Director’s Cut Theatre’s Writer’s Club (2021) and Broken Silence Theatre’s Playwright Hive (2022).
