Background Helen comes from a background of theatre, whodunnits and true crime! She grew up in an amateur theatrical family among Agatha Christie's novels and the Five Find Outers and Dog...
She studied Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University but although she wouldn't call herself an actor, she prefers to be in front of the audience which she now enjoys through her business, Dead Herring for which she writes and performs murder mystery team building events.
In Her Defence is her first and, so far, only play and is an homage to the great Agatha Christie, having been a fan of classic whodunnits (particularly with a killer twist) since childhood. |
Reviews from Edinburgh Helen took a two-hander version of it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022 to four star reviews
Edinburgh Guide
“Agatha Christie would certainly enjoy this ingenious puzzle of a plot to plan the perfect murder of ‘quiet domestic interest.’”
British Theatre Guide
“Dead Herring’s In Her Defence, skillfully written by Helen Saxton, is the classic Agatha Christie murder mystery play with a wicked twist.”
Chris Sparkle
“Good fun and engrossing.” |
