  • The audience try to work out whodunnit

What Does Lazy Bee Scripts Provide?
Lazy Bee Scripts supplies a pack of material, including:-
  • An Overview for the Organiser, including
    • Guidelines for preparing the mystery
    • Guidelines for running the mystery
    • Suggested timings
  • A "narrative arc" for the mystery
    • Key plot points
    • Essential events
  • Character Briefs for each character
    • Character description
    • Character history
    • Motivation
  • The Solution
    • An explanation of who dunnit and why!
  • Additional Materials
    • Printable table cards, a poster used in the story and name cards for distribution at the event
    • Detective Sheets for the audience to submit their accusations
Note that Lazy Bee Scripts does not provide a script for the dialogue.
Because the actors are interacting with the audience, it is not possible to stick to a fixed script. Instead the actors improvise dialogue based on the "narrative arc."
What's a Murder Mystery Event?
  • The audience members are brought together for a fictitious 'special event' (and encouraged to dress appropriately for the occasion). A murder takes place, which the participants are invited to solve.
  • In this case
    • The event is a Robin Hood themed dinner for the Historical Re-enactment Society, brought back together (after a recent disaster) so the chairman can announce an event to save the society...
    • The performers will be dressed accordingly and there is scope for the audience to dress in appropriate themed costumes to add to the atmosphere.
    • As the actors progress with the unveiling of the plans, the mystery develops until one of the characters is found murdered...
  • This Mystery Needs
    • An 'acting company' of 4 men and 2 women
    • No specific set or furniture
  • Estimated run times (which may vary enormously!)
    • Improvised elements: 90 minutes

What's the Mystery Here?
The time is the present, although many members of the Historical Re-enactment Society wish it was some other era! The society has been brought together to unveil their next event. At the gathering, we find:-
Barry Island - The Chairman
Tracey Island - Barry's wife, and a stickler for historical details and accuracy.
Gill Ingham - A flirtatious and recent new member of the group.
Brad Ford - The society treasurer.
Gerrard Cross - Wannabe pop musician and member of the committee.
PC Layton Buzzard - Local Police Constable and society member.
The gathering descends into chaos as one of the gathering is found murdered. It seems that everyone had a possible motive, but who committed the heinous crime?
