Old King Cole by Peter Bond
RolesMinimum Male roles = 4. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 19. Minimum total without doubling = 23. Chorus. It's a panto - normal pantomime gender confusion applies! We also have the ever-popular pantomime pirates. (Say Aar!) And we have some rather unusual pantomime creatures. (Yes, all panto animals are unusual, but these are more unusual than that.)

StyleBritish pantomime - songs, dances, jokes, mayhem.
SynopsisThe hero has gone missing - or, at least, the King, and Old King Cole ought to be some sort of hero. Anyway, he's done a runner, and since then, everything at the court has turned sour. The princess has turned into a talking encyclopaedia and the Queen can barely speak. A doctor proposes a remedy - the Queen needs to laugh, but nobody seems to be able to make her so much as smile, least of all Gooseberry, the jester. Fairy Crackers sends Gooseberry on a mission - to bring back the world's funniest joke! But even if he finds it, will the Queen regain her sense of humour?

Old King Cole [Version 2] by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett
RolesMinimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 16. Minimum total without doubling = 27. Chorus. Characters have the usual panto types plus a pantomime dog, an Egyptian mummy and a brief cameo for the Loch Ness Monster.

SynopsisThwarted by Aladdin (in another panto), the wizard Abanazar is after another magical object to give him power - and this time he steals Old King Cole's crown. An unlikely party sets out to retrieve the crown, featuring Candy Floss, the sweet shop owner, Rhubarb Fool, the Jester, Hey, Diddle and Dee (the famous fiddlers three) and led by Jack, Candy's son, who wants to be a hero and win the traditional hero's reward of half a kingdom and the Princess's hand in marriage. Princess Rose is all in favour of this, but there's a snag - she's already betrothed to a prince from the neighbouring kingdom...

SynopsisThe daughter of Cinderella is about to marry the son of Snow White, banishing evil from Pantoland forever or so the ancient prophecy says. Naturally the baddies aren't taking this lying down! Evelyn, the wickedest of wicked witches, spirits Princess Lottie and her two idiot helpers Nick and Nack away from the palace and drops them on the edge of Pantoland in the hopes that Prince Marvellous will despair and abandon his plans to marry her. Of course, the Prince embarks on a rescue mission, but what lies in store for him?

In the midst of this muddle, the wicked witch spies an opportunity to magic up a bad ending, but she can't do it alone... The Panto of the Opera by Stuart Ardern

SynopsisMysterious goings-on at the Paris Opera house - the new owner discovers that her premises are threatened with closure by villainous English Lord, Frank Lee, that she is under perpetual scrutiny from a Health and Safety inspector and that the Opera House is haunted by the mysterious Phantom, who seems to be giving singing lessons to Christine, a newcomer who has attracted the attention of the wealthy patron, Raoul. Not only that, but the owner is under siege from a stream of composers who want to pitch ideas for new shows to her (some of which might sound a little familiar) and, what's more, a gold statue has gone missing from the roof. Can Raoul save Christine from the Phantom? Can anyone save the Opera House from Frank?

The Panto Puzzle by Mary Portalska

The caretaker shows them the boxes containing previous pantos, to discover that three things have been stolen from Cinderella's box by the sorceress Evilena. Dolly and Charlie must visit three other pantomimes to get them back.
