The Saga of Freydis and the Raiders by Geoff Bamber

SynopsisIt is 980 A.D. and Freydis nurtures an ambition to become famous by getting herself into a Norse Saga. To do this she must impress The Wise One (Recorder of Sagas) with some deed of daring, a great adventure or victory in some ferocious battle. Unfortunately she has been told time and time again that the Saga is a male-only preserve. Undeterred she seeks to break the mould by sailing across the oceans to discover the New World, the safer alternative to going head-to-head with local bully-boy, Thorbrand the Destroyer. A tale of ambition, daring and Skandiwegian furniture.

Saint Nicholas and the Three Purses of Gold by Timothy Hallett and Nicholas Richards
RolesMinimum Male roles = 0. Minimum Female roles = 0. Minimum total with doubling = 1. Minimum total without doubling = 9. Chorus. Technically, there are no characters - that is to say, it could be sung by a soloist. In practice, the intention is for the singing to be shared between several narrators and a chorus whilst the story is mimed by actors.

StyleA sung story. (Technically, that makes it a Cantata, but don't let the fancy name put you off!) Does not require any set or props, but props could be used as part of a mime of the story.

Samson - The Musical by Sue Gordon
Performance by Cheshire Academy of Performing Arts won the award for Best Junior Production at the Wilmslow Guild One Act Play Festival, 2008
