Chariot by Chad Bearden

The kids use their imaginations to stay calm and happy on the trip. The family meet various personalities along America's highways who try to help the lost siblings and the loyal Joe set aside their fantasies and confront reality.

Charles Dickens' Christmas Eve by Wende Feller
