Even worse, she claims to have been living there rather longer than Ben has himself, and some of her other claims are still more unbelievable. Friend and colleague George and local bobby PC Pullen are unable to even see Devra, let alone resolve the situation. Devra does seem to have mysterious powers, but is it possible she might be able to improve the rapidly deteriorating relationship between Ben and his former wife, Hilary?

So it seems. Van Cheele's life is interrupted by the arrival of a strange boy, with disturbing behaviour and an unusual disregard for clothes.
(The author makes some suggestions about how to deal with this last point whilst remaining within the bounds of decency!)

Grave Matters by Peter Stallard
Production by Carbost Village Drama Group garnered two trophies (Best Stage Presentation and Best Actor) at the Skye One Act Drama Festival, 2013

The Grave Warden is written male, but could easily be played female. The two female parts could, conceivably, be doubled, but the effect of Mrs. Roberts' final entrance would probably be better with more time for make-up!
