The Necklace by Tony Best
Performance by Cheshire Academy of Performing Arts won best Youth Production and the Syd Mence cup for a piece of theatre magic at the Wilmslow Guild One Act play Festival, 2012
RolesMinimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 6. Minimum total without doubling = 29. Chorus. There are two main roles, and a 'chorus of voices' playing all the other roles, thus the numbers are very flexible. The chorus members play specific roles but also act as a 'Greek Chorus' to comment on the story.

The Neville Report - Village of Fear by Gary Diamond, John Fryer & Ray Lawrence

In theory, because it's a radio play, this could be done with a very small cast - Neville, the central character plus one other male and one female playing the rest of the characters. SynopsisFramton has been sent to the country as a rest cure for his nerves. However, his encounter with his doctor's cousin, Gertrude, and her neices is anything but calming.

Outside the Box by JPS Yates
Performance by Tarrystone Players won the John Rigg Award for Best Comedy and the South of England Building Society Award for Best Stage Presentation at the Maidenhead Drama Festival 2011.

SynopsisThe nursery toys are mostly happy with their lot in life - only Ragdoll feels unwanted, so it doesn't surprise her when bureaucratic Fairy Crackernuts arrives and announces they're having 'a re-shuffle'. What does surprise her is that Teddy is the who's been made redundant...

A Pig Tale by Kevin Jannetts
Production by Loch Duich Primary School won Adjudicator's special award. South West Ross District Youth SCDA Festival 2016.

The chorus is the sort that rushes on to perform songs and dances in various guises! Most of the roles are gender-neutral, although one of the pigs is called Maureen and the wolf is called Alan, both of which tend to be specific.

SynopsisThe story of the Three Pigs gets a revamp in this Scots story, allowing a couple of Narrators to bring the story to life with anthropomorphic pigs struggling to find a story they can take part in to keep their deal with a Fairy Solicitor. Add in a Big Bad Wolf called Alan, and it all works out fine in the end.

Rivalries between staff bubble to the surface, as political opinions, back-stabbing and even threats of violence are thrown into the mix.
