Downsizing by David Pemberton
RolesMinimum Male roles = 1. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 4. Minimum total without doubling = 5. No chorus. Offstage digital assistant (could be pre-recorded). Four on-stage characters, nominally 2m, 2f, but Cara and Zen are flexible.

StyleA funny, slightly surreal domestic comedy set in a living room with a scene in darkness in a bedroom (only one set needed!). Works indepenently, but could be performed as a companion piece to Battle of the Bedroom.
SynopsisAfter a blow-out party in their tiny apartment, Chris and Jo decide to declutter their lives, but their mystical house doctor declutters more than they bargained for.

The Emperor's Last Victory by Vithal Rajan

God's Minstrel by Joseph P. Ritz

Grave Matters by Peter Stallard
Production by Carbost Village Drama Group garnered two trophies (Best Stage Presentation and Best Actor) at the Skye One Act Drama Festival, 2013

The Grave Warden is written male, but could easily be played female. The two female parts could, conceivably, be doubled, but the effect of Mrs. Roberts' final entrance would probably be better with more time for make-up!

Handstands For You by Adam Exton

SynopsisWhen Billy was five, his best friend was Gemma, but she moved away. Now Billy's thirteen, he's got a new best friend in Ronald, but he also has leukaemia. Gemma moves back to the neighbourhood and the three have to find space for each other.

SynopsisThe writer is grappling not only with his writing but also with his personal life as he desperately attempts to strike up a relationship with Janis, a beautiful girl he sees on a bus.
Well paced and gathering speed, the play uses the chorus to reveal the writer's thoughts - sometimes cogent, sometimes chaotic - come to life as the surreal become real.

The Lambton Worm by Timothy Hallett and Nicholas Richards

StyleShort musical retelling of an English folk tale. (The music plays throughout, even though some of the narration is spoken rather than sung.) No real set requirements, but the ideal performance would put some effort into creating a fearsome worm!
SynopsisThe tale of the wild worm of Wearside and its grisly end.
It should be emphasised that 'worm' is used in its old sense of 'serpent' - so this is a story of knights fighting dragons.
