But he then meets with a fatal accident. Goblins show him what becomes of his impoverished family seven years later - as well as an alternative, happier New Year.

Christmas at Thompson Hall by Anthony Trollope adapted by Peter Bond

Due to a mix-up during the night, Mr Jones believes Mrs Brown has tried to murder him, which makes everyone's journey - and the following revelations - all the more uncomfortable.
