Jack and the Beanstalk [Version 5] by Jilly McNeil
RolesMinimum Male roles = 4. Minimum Female roles = 9. Minimum total with doubling = 26. Minimum total without doubling = 30. Chorus. Unusually for Jack and the Beanstalk, it includes a cameo for Robin Hood and interruptions from four brownies. It also has the usual suspects, including buttercup the cow.

SynopsisThe Spratt family can't pay the rent for their cottage and greedy Squire Trebormint is going to throw them out. There's nothing for it but to sell the family cow. Unfortunately, Jack swaps it for a handful of beans... Fortunately, they're magic and grow a beanstalk up to Cloudland. Unfortunately, there's a giant up there. Cue heroism, romance and green people...

SynopsisAll is not well in the Land of Nod where the dreams of mortal men exist. King Rat is taking over with his band of dirty rats and if not stopped our dreams will become nightmares. The Fairie Queen, the ruler of the Land of Nod is losing her powers as few mortal children believe in fairies and needs the help of one who is true of heart. She calls upon Jack, who falls asleep a lot and has just lost his parent's farm for them and doesn't have any livestock to sell for magic beans. But the Fairie Queen is desperate (she must be) and beckons Jack into the Land of Nod. With the help of a pirate and his motley crew, can Jack's mission succeed and save the Land of Nod, especially when some of his stout hearted crew aren't quite what they pretend to be?

Adopted by wolves Mowgli is taught the ways of the jungle by Baloo the Bear and his friend Bagheera. Sticking fairly faithfully to the original storyline, with the introduction of pantomime characters as Jane (the dame) and two mischief makers (Chitter and Chatter), the variety of songs ensure a well-rounded show suitable for all the family.

The Jungle Book by Tina & Robert Burbidge
