Red Riding Hood [Version 2] by Bob Hammond
RolesMinimum Male roles = 4. Minimum Female roles = 5. Minimum total with doubling = 21. Minimum total without doubling = 24. Chorus. The usual pantomime juxtapositions (so you can make your own mind up about the gender of the characters). Includes a chorus of chickens.

SynopsisFarmer Hood's Chickens are being whittled down by the big bad wolf, Granny Hood needs her cottage decorated, and Red needs a new dress to go to the village dance. Tom the Woodcutter wants to take Red to the dance. All these things collide in the wood, ending with the wolf caught bang to rights, Granny's cottage done up nice and Red and Tom on their way to the dance.

Rhyming Aladdin by Stuart Ardern

This is an English pantomime, so Widow Twankey could well be played as a pantomime dame and Aladdin as a principal boy (so male playing female and female playing male)

SynopsisAladdin, a washerwoman's son falls for a beautiful princess. In his urgent need for wealth, he is tricked into accompanying the wicked Abanaza on an expedition to retrieve a magic lamp. Abanaza traps Aladdin in a cave, but with a lot of magical help Aladdin escapes and (after a few twists and turns) love triumphs.

Rhyming Beauty and The Beast by Richard Coleman

SynopsisA merchant goes to trade his wares and bring back gifts for his three daughters. Two of them, greedy and vain, desire jewellery, the other, fair and good-natured, wishes for a rose. But the merchant plucks a rose from the garden of the Beast, and he must pledge the Beast his daughter's hand in marriage to save his own life.

Rhyming Pinocchio by Richard Coleman

StyleA simple, humorous rendition of the story of Pinocchio in rhyme, minimal set requirements. Not quite a full-blown pantomime, but in the same comedic area.
SynopsisGeppetto makes Pinocchio, whom the Blue Fairy brings alive, however, as part of the spell, if Pinocchio tells lies, his nose will grow! Pinocchio is tricked into joining Stromboli's puppet show. Stromboli plans a show for the Duke which will make him rich, he tries to get Pinocchio to flatter the Duke's court, with disastrous results for the puppet's nose. Pinocchio is trapped, but who will rescue him?

SynopsisRobin Hood and his Merry Men hatch a plan to rob the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and give back to the poor. The Sheriff finds out about Robin's plan and invents a scheme of his own to catch the outlaws. A few rhymes, imprisonments and swordfights later, good triumphs once again.

Robbins And Caruso by Ian McCutcheon

A passing ship makes landfall and the evil Lord Ruffbottom and his scurvy crew disrupt their idyll. The action-packed script provides fun for all ages.

Robin Hood by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett
RolesMinimum Male roles = 1. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 16. Minimum total without doubling = 26. Chorus. Since this is a pantomime, Robin Hood's Merry Men need not actually be men! This principle may well apply to other characters. Includes a pantomime horse.
Run TimeAround 150 minutes. [Estimated!] (Timing allows for 16 songs!) Plaza Theatre production, directed by Bob Heather, ran to 2 hrs.

SynopsisWhen Robin Hood returns to Nottingham after a stint in the crusades, he meets the Sheriff's ward, Maid Marion and falls in love, only to find out that the Sheriff himself has designs on er. Marion isn't the only thing the Sheriff desires, the whole of Sherwood Forest is under threat of his evil plans when Robin's outlaws discover plans for the forest to be chopped down for the Sheriff's new money-grabbing venture. Robin and his band of Merry Men with the aid of Holly Jockey-Sticks, the woodland Fairy, Nellie Scarlet (Marion's nanny) and her son Wally set out to thwart the evil Sheriff once and for all to ensure good will always win over evil.

Robin Hood - The Pantomime by Bob Hammond
RolesMinimum Male roles = 5. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 18. Minimum total without doubling = 31. Chorus. Many characters are written male, but this is a pantomime, so the casting is very flexible! The minimum male set is the Sheriff, Lord Knowse, Tuck, Euphonia and Richard (doubling a Villager), with Robin Hood, Marion and Ruth the Sooth played by females.
