Christmas at Thompson Hall by Anthony Trollope adapted by Peter Bond

SynopsisOn the 23rd of December, 1872, Mr and Mrs Brown arrive in a hotel in Paris, as does Mr Jones. They all need to travel to England early the following morning. Due to a mix-up during the night, Mr Jones believes Mrs Brown has tried to murder him, which makes everyone's journey - and the following revelations - all the more uncomfortable.

New member Wendy is a little apprehensive at first, but soon joins in with the other ladies as relationships develop and tensions appear, with Brian at the centre of the conflicts. His intriguing male presence at a class for ladies is gradually revealed as the class proceeds. Then, in an amusing and surprising final twist we find that Brian has other interests.

SynopsisA series of comic scenes set in Roman times in which an ancient doctor deals with various patients - in Latin. Narrators bind the scenes together, explain the Latin for those who need it, and provide some elementary background information on ancient medicine. The piece is designed as an educationally useful but recreational activity for Latin classes, and could make an entertaining Assembly or be interspersed with other pieces in an end-of-term show.

Crossing The Line by Pete Benson
Performance by Weighton Young Players won the East Riding Section of the All England Theatre Festival, 2019, also picking up best actress, best director and youth section awards.
