Along the way her stoic strength of character enables her to peel away repressed emotions in others and helps them to come to terms with their own difficulties.

This leads to tesions between those who might benefit from change and those who want to preserve the pristine environment. There's also the local legend of a dangerous wild beast - The Giant Wolverine. This is not taken seriously - until strange howls are heard outside the bar...
