The Last Gateway by Sarah Pemberton

Roles are a mixture of children and adults, but all played by children. Two principal characters and three narrators, with a (flexible) company playing the rest of the roles. SynopsisA charming and refreshing retelling of the nativity story. The old donkey uses flashbacks to tell the children about his younger days and his part in the events of the very first Christmas. The nativity happenings unfold before us as all of the customary human and animal characters come to life with lots of opportunity for children of all abilities to take part. There is even the prospect of a comedy double act as the chickens get into their stride.
