The Snow Queen [Version 2] by Tina & Robert Burbidge
RolesMinimum Male roles = 6. Minimum Female roles = 10. Minimum total with doubling = 19. Minimum total without doubling = 20. Chorus. Strong female cast. Whilst 'Granny' might be played by a male as a pantomime dame, this is not essential to the part.

StyleHans Christian Andersen's tale of 'The Snow Queen' delivered as an English pantomime - with jokes, songs, and the occasional accident with a large pie.
SynopsisThe wicked Snow Queen captures a boy, Kay, and takes him to her ice palace. Kay's friend Gerda sets out to rescue him, with the (unexpected) help of her grandmother, Annie, the village handiwoman and Summer, the Snow Queen's good sister.

The Snow Queen [Version 3] by IgLou Creative
RolesMinimum Male roles = 2. Minimum Female roles = 2. Minimum total with doubling = 10. Minimum total without doubling = 25. Chorus. It's a panto - make up your own mind as to who does what. The chorus includes a number of speaking roles. (The number is nominally 12, but these could easily be reassigned to as few as three.)

SynopsisJust as Rufus comes of age and is about to take his throne and marry his peasant girl love, the Snow Queen swoops, freezes his heart and persuades him to marry her instead. The lovely Sophia must rescue him, aided by her fearsome mother and the courtly Rene.

The Snow Queen [Version 5] by Andrew O'Leary
RolesMinimum Male roles = 1. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 19. Minimum total without doubling = 24. Chorus. Includes penguins and the Wild Boys who are yeti look-alikes. (This assumes that you know what a yeti looks like.)

SynopsisThe evil Snow Queen needs more children to work in her snow mine to fulfil her plan to dominate the world by turning it into a land of ice. Her bumbling henchmen, led by Jack Frost, set out to kidnap all the children but their plans are thwarted by Dame Rosie ably assisted by escaped penguins Pete and Percy.

The Snow Queen [Version 6] by Mary Portalska
RolesMinimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 3. Minimum total with doubling = 14. Minimum total without doubling = 30. Chorus. 11 principals, chorus with various cameo roles and a non-speaking bear. The chorus has a peak of 8 speaking roles, but these could be reassigned amongst a smaller chorus.

The Snow Queen by Dave Jeanes

SynopsisKai is captured by the evil Snow Queen and whisked to her palace of ice. His friend Gerda sets out to rescue him with the help of the magical Jack Frost. They are followed by Gerda's grandmother, who, unbeknown to Gerda is a good witch. On the way, they encounter the riddling Crowman, a troll, the evil Black Ice and even Father Christmas!
