Synopsis:
Lenny and Margo are left orphaned when their mother dies, but their Uncle Joe sneaks them away from government care and takes them on a wild road trip towards San Diego (where he claims to have a job). The kids use their imaginations to stay calm and happy on the trip. The family meet various personalities along America's highways who try to help the lost siblings and the loyal Joe set aside their fantasies and confront reality.
