In a failed attempt at poverty eradication, Jack exchanges Daisy the cow for a bag of beans. In a failed attempt at recycling, his mother throws the beans out of the window. Mysteriously, a giant beanstalk grows and, on climbing it, Jack gets to fight a giant Giant, rescue the heroine and live happily ever after. (A traditional pantomime story of success through idiocy!)
