Synopsis:
Mirko the Miller faces a prison sentence for failing to pay his taxes. He tries to impress the King and Queen by claiming his sister, Anezhka, can spin gold from straw. She is brought to the palace to attempt the impossible feat, whereupon she meets a little man with magic powers who can help her out - but only if she offers him her first-born child...
