SynopsisHarry, a homeless and deaf war veteran, intervenes when he sees Val being mugged at the bus stop. Harry is injured and so Val invites him home. But the arguments between Val's family cause great stress to Harry, which is worsened when Harry meets teenage Katie's new boyfriend.

The buyer turns out to be his elder brother Andrew who has designs on turning the ancestral home into his new corporate HQ. Peter makes a last ditch attempt to make the Manor profitable and so Merridale Spa is born, playground of the rich and gullible.
