Rumpelstiltskin [Rhyming] by Peter Bond

StyleA short verse pantomime in two scenes for a small cast. A fun take on the Grimm tale, livened up by some comedy and a twist on the ending.
SynopsisThe Miller boasts that his daughter Samantha is so clever she can spin straw into gold. The King hears this and demands that she do so (with the reward of marrying the king). Samantha is a fine young lady, and so on, but has no such skill. Rumpelstiltskin, however, does and completes the task for her. After which, it turns out that Samantha doesn't think much of the reward.

Undeterred she seeks to break the mould by sailing across the oceans to discover the New World, the safer alternative to going head-to-head with local bully-boy, Thorbrand the Destroyer. Samson - The Musical by Sue Gordon
Performance by Cheshire Academy of Performing Arts won the award for Best Junior Production at the Wilmslow Guild One Act Play Festival, 2008
