Cleopatra does not find the advances of a succession of stylish Romans entirely unwelcome, even if her brother has to be disposed of in the process. Synopsis | David Copperfield's life takes a turn for the worse when his widowed mother takes up with the unscrupulous Mr Edward Murdstone. David is packed off to a nasty school and subsequently finds employment in Murdstone's factory. Employment is short-lived as David's friend and co-worker Mr Micawber is unjustly jailed for embezzlement and David seeks a new life with his eccentric Aunt. This lasts until her maid elopes with an old school friend of David's, and he sets off back to London on a rescue mission, during which he rediscovers Micawber and they find the true identity of the embezzler, and, indeed, a happy ending. |

Synopsis | Solicitor Jonathan Harker finds himself despatched to Transylvania to sort out a property deal for a mysterious Dr. Acula. On arrival, Harker realises that that he has been the victim of a misprint, but he is so charmed by his welcome that he fails to realise that he has become something of a prisoner. Harker's plight is made more acute by the attentions of the Brides of Dracula, a voracious trio, who appear to have less than honourable intentions. With the improbable assistance of Dracula's servant, Igoretta, Harker escapes and returns to England, where, shortly afterwards, his fiancé finds herself in the company of a mysterious foreign gentleman. Little does she realise what is at stake... |
