Robin Hood and the King's Bling by Geoff Bamber
RolesMinimum Male roles = 6. Minimum Female roles = 6. Minimum total with doubling = 16. Minimum total without doubling = 20. No chorus. There is no formal chorus, but it would be possible to add villagers and sheriff's guards.

StyleComedy play for kids. Structurally in two acts, but of one-act length. Simple (minimal) sets (give or take the tree), and simple props (give or take the tree stumps).
SynopsisRobin Hood's mission statement - Steal from the Rich, Give to the Poor - is wearing thin with the local villagers who haven't seen much of him doing either. The arrival in the area of King John, complete with a box of royal jewels and an underhand plan for them, presents Robin and his outlaw band with a chance to redeem themselves. Unfortunately for Robin, his arch-enemy, the brutal Sheriff of Nottingham, stands in his way.

Robinson Crusoe - No Man Is An Island by Geoff Bamber
RolesMinimum Male roles = 0. Minimum Female roles = 0. Minimum total with doubling = 15. Minimum total without doubling = 16. No chorus. Most characters are nominally male, however that is merely to indicate a foolhardy disposition, and should not prevent casting against type! Whilst there is no formal chorus, non-speaking warriors and Naval Ratings (strong silent types) could be added.

StyleThe author bills this as a pantomime, and it certainly has some pantomime elements, but it lacks a formal panto structure. Anyway, it's a comedy for kids in one act (and a single set).
SynopsisIt is the year 1751 and Robinson Crusoe, eager to escape the prospect of becoming a schoolteacher, sets out for a life of adventure at sea. The adventure sees him shipwrecked on an apparently deserted island. But he finds that he is not alone as he encounters a less than completely loyal Friday, hostile natives, survivors from another wreck and a trio of unprincipled pirates on the trail of royal treasure.

SynopsisTwo households, both alike in dignity, in fair Verona, where we lay our scene... Well, dignity if dignity includes Lady Montague and Lady Capulet scrapping in the streets. Basically a story of family fights family, boy meets girl and most of the principals meet an untimely death. (But there are a few laughs on the way.)

Undeterred she seeks to break the mould by sailing across the oceans to discover the New World, the safer alternative to going head-to-head with local bully-boy, Thorbrand the Destroyer.
