Synopsis:
A musical re-telling of the story of Ruth. The themes included follow closely the threads that weave through the book of Ruth in the Old Testament of the Bible, and relate to subjects close to the hearts of most of us - those of loving kindness, caring and the need for a safe refuge. The music is varied and modern, with sonorities and rhythms quickly recognised and readily learnt by young and old alike - ballads for solo singers and duets, interspersed with pieces, some serious and some comical, for a choir.
