Synopsis:
A dramatisation of the true story of Donnie Merrett, who at the age of 17, shot his mother after she found out he had been forging cheques in her name. On release from prison in 1945, he joined the Royal Navy Reserve in Germany before returning to a life of crime and debauchery, eventually fleeing before he can be court martialled. Returning to London to the old folks home run by his wife and mother-in-law, he demands money to continue funding his habits.
