Jungle Book by Debbie Chalmers

Jungle Book - The Pantomime by Cheryl Barrett

StyleA full length pantomime based on the classic Rudyard Kipling story.
SynopsisMowgli the man cub has escaped the clutches of the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, who is intent on revenge. Adopted by wolves Mowgli is taught the ways of the jungle by Baloo the Bear and his friend Bagheera. Sticking fairly faithfully to the original storyline, with the introduction of pantomime characters as Jane (the dame) and two mischief makers (Chitter and Chatter), the variety of songs ensure a well-rounded show suitable for all the family.

The Jungle Book [Play] by Hugh Farey

SynopsisMowgli, a child separated from his village by Shere Khan, the tiger, is found by a company of wolves. Bagheera the panther persuades the wolves to protect the child, and Mowgli is brought up in the jungle - where he has both friends and enemies.

King Charles and the Cheese by Geoff Bamber

StyleHistorical (in the acurate as a Hollywood epic sense of the word) comedy drama for kids, set during the English Civil War.
SynopsisKing Charles And The Cheese is the entirely (give or take most of it) true story of how a simple piece of cheese altered the course of English history. The English Civil War rages on but, after a heavy defeat at the Battle of Worcester, the would-be King Charles II attempts to make his way to, hopefully temporary, exile in France. In hot pursuit are Charles' enemy Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of All England and his Roundhead army Charles takes cover at the Royal Oak Inn but Cromwell and his men are upon him in short order. Is Charles doomed or can salvation be found in the Royal Oak's larder?

The King of Spain's Treasure by Geoff Bamber
Performance by Cheshire Academy of Performing arts won the Syd Mence Trophy at the Wilmslow Guild One Act Play Festival may 2011 (for being 'a piece of magic'!)

SynopsisJim Hawkins, now in possession of the tattered map of a distant tropical island, sees a life of adventure and great riches beckoning but, as the story unfolds, he realises that he is not the only one with an interest in the treasure.

The King's New Clothes by Peter Bond & Bob Heather

SynopsisThe King needs a new suit for his forthcoming marriage, and the royal tailors just can't cut it. The situation seems tailor-maid for the evil Barron Grumbleguts, who wishes to usurp the throne. He proposes a competition, and then engineers the humiliation of the king by means of an invisible suit. All comes right in the end, with the help of a deputy superintendent of vegetables, and Hercules, the performing flea!

The Lambton Worm by Timothy Hallett and Nicholas Richards
RolesMinimum Male roles = 3. Minimum Female roles = 1. Minimum total with doubling = 5. Minimum total without doubling = 19. Chorus. Very flexible casting. There is one narrator role, but this could be shared out. Equally, the chorus could be 'all the actors'.

MusicA 40-page musical score is included with the Producer's Copy of the script.
StyleShort musical retelling of an English folk tale. (The music plays throughout, even though some of the narration is spoken rather than sung.) No real set requirements, but the ideal performance would put some effort into creating a fearsome worm!
SynopsisThe tale of the wild worm of Wearside and its grisly end.
It should be emphasised that 'worm' is used in its old sense of 'serpent' - so this is a story of knights fighting dragons.
